He played a significant role in championing the rights of workers in Gujarat, India. His leadership was instrumental in leading several workers' unions, where he worked tirelessly to secure fair treatment, safe working conditions, and just compensation for laborers across various industries.
In addition to his work with workers' unions, Narendra Solanki also served as a trustee at the Swaman Trust, an organization committed to the holistic development of laborers in Gujarat. The Swaman Trust, under his guidance, aimed to address not only the immediate labor issues but also the overall well-being and growth of the labor community in the region.
Narendra Solanki's dedication to labor rights and his multifaceted involvement in legal, notarial, and advocacy roles left a lasting impact on the lives of countless laborers in Gujarat. Inspired by his own experiences, Naresh transformed this passion into the foundation of Panah, an organization aimed at creating substantial improvements in the lives of informal workers.
Before founding Panah, Naresh gained valuable experience working with notable organizations such as Teach for India and Ajeevika Bureau. These experiences further fueled his commitment to the cause.
Naresh's dedication to social entrepreneurship led him to pursue a fellowship at the School for Social Entrepreneurs, where he honed his skills and expanded his network. His journey took him on the world's largest train journey, providing him with diverse perspectives and insights into the challenges faced by informal workers.
Notably, Naresh pursued higher education, completing Masters in Labour Welfare and Social Work, which enriched his knowledge and expertise in the field.
In 2020, Naresh ventured into the business world, achieving remarkable success by turning a company into a profitable venture, with earnings reaching 10 million INR. However, his commitment to the cause remained unwavering, leading him to resign from the corporate world in 2021 to continue his work for the informal sector.
His efforts have not gone unnoticed, as Naresh received multiple awards and media recognition for his impactful work with migrants and informal workers in India. In 2022, he organized India's largest walk for migrants, amplifying their voices and advocating for their rights and entitlements. Naresh's dedication and passion are driving forces behind the realization of Panah's vision, making him a true champion for the marginalized and underserved in Indian society.
